Background Story
Having discovered the cause of the plague spreading through Alterica (in Game 1), our hero now travels to Windholt to find Patient Zero, the first known victim of the plague.
Inspector Plinkerton, Windholt's public hygiene officer, has collected information that could identify this patient, but he can't quite figure out how to put the clues together. His dilemma leads to Puzzle 2, Patient Zero.
Game Play
Patient Zero consists of two related logic puzzles that have a similar design. In the first puzzle, the player interprets clues to pinpoint the order in which the patients fell ill. The second puzzle gives the player clues to find the person who brought the virus to Windholt. The puzzles are played sequentially and are connected by a brief story sequence.
Part 1:
In the first logic puzzle, we learn about five travelers. The player must use clues to determine which traveler was the first to contract the plague in Windholt.

The travelers' identity cards are shown on the screen. To find Windholt's first man to fall ill, the player must drag labels from the bottom of the screen to fill in the missing name, age, and hair color information in the traveler descriptions.
To know where a label goes, the player reads a set of clues gathered through interviews at the inn where Patient Zero stayed. Each clue gives details that help the player match attributes with travelers. The player then drags each descriptive label to the appropriate card. (Note: A player can easily change the position of a label by dragging it from one card to another.)
When all 12 spots on the description cards have been filled in correctly, the player will be able to identify Patient Zero!
Part 2:
In Part 2 of the game, the player learns that Patient Zero was held in a waiting cell at the customs house along with five other travelers. The player must use clues to determine which of the five travelers shared the same cell with Patient Zero, and therefore brought the plague to Windholt.

The travelers' identity stamps are shown on the screen. The player must drag labels from the bottom of the screen to fill in the missing name, transportation, and clothing information in the traveler descriptions.
As in Part 1, the player can read a set of clues to discover details about the travelers who were held at the customs house. Each clue gives details that help the player match attributes with travelers.
When all 12 spots on the description cards have been filled in, the player will be able to identify the traveler who brought the plague to Windholt!
After identifying Patient Zero and the man who infected him, the hero becomes a Journeyman and gains a glowing orb on top of his or her caduceus.
